Reflections on Life

When you were younger, did you ever think you would be in a place like this?

This was a question posed my my husband as we sat eating dinner in an upscale restaurant on the first floor of an upscale hotel.

My answer? No, not at all.

Only in my wildest dreams did I think growing up that I would be in the position to afford anything expensive, never mind food that would be gone in under an hour.

This is a great reminder to me that I am blessed.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

I’m blessed to have been brought out of the situation that I was born into and raised in.

I’m blessed to afford an expensive meal when there were times that I went without food.

I’m blessed to own a single-family home when I grew up in subsidized housing.

I’m blessed to have a child who is an amazing gift to everyone she encounters.

I thank God every day for His blessings, and I can’t imagine where I would be without him.

I know things could have gone a different way. I’ve seen what that could look like and I’m grateful that the Lord had other plans for me.

I am so thankful and so blessed.

Let my testimony serve as a reminder to take the time to thank the Lord for all that He has brought you through and blessed you with.
