Shimmering, dark

Close, so close

But out of reach

Caution

Trauma and anger

Violent memories

Failure, pain

Packaged with a bow

Happy occasions

Scattered throughout

Simple joys

Times of respite

Always fleeting

Digging deep

Uncovering what has

So long been buried

Broken fragments

Guarded and hardened

Stretching and reaching

Fracturing the shield

Reliving, truly seeing

New perspectives

Slowly

Finally shattering

Grasping, pulling
